When my son, Daniel and his wife, Julie, visited the Canadian-French pavilion at Folklorama in Winnipeg, they ate Sugar Pies. Since we have been studying The Glorious Flight for Five in a Row and I needed something French to cook, we decided to give these a try.
I whipped up some pie crust and Abby cut it in circles to fit into the muffin tins. She mixed the batter, which is akin to pecan pie filling without the pecans. (In the photo, they look burned in the middle, but actually they are caramalized and very gooey and sweet!) We baked them for lunch when our son, Joshua, was visiting this week. Oooh, la-la! C'est tres bon!
