We've been working on several things this week, despite several interruptions (good and not-so-wonderful).
Today's artist was Andrew Wyeth. We tried to replicate his simple landscapes and snow paintings. First, we drew a simple picture. Then, we dripped rubber cement on it (we were supposed to use a toothbrush, but alas, it didn't work) and let it dry. Then we painted the whole page and let it dry. Last, we rubbed off the rubber cement and had white spots underneath for the snowflakes. Cool, huh?
We're using Discovering Great Artists by MaryAnn F. Kohl and Kim Solga.
