Outside my window...
It's spring! After a rainy, cloudy weekend, the sun is shining brilliantly. It's cold, but supposed to warm up a bit today.
I am thinking....
About some blog posts I'm creating. About my uncle, who passed away suddenly on Friday - his funeral is tomorrow. About the Passover Seder, which I'm working on and it's gotten to be a bigger affair than originally thought. About those Easter dresses, which aren't finished yet and shoes for three or four people which haven't been found. And about the end of school in a couple or three weeks.
I am thankful for...
and very proud of
my husband and very best friend!
From the learning rooms...
Finishing up lots of things over the next couple of weeks. Adding in some fun things, such as art and music. Mrs. Katz and Tush for FIAR in honor of the Passover Seder.
From the kitchen....
Bean, Chicken, and Sausage Soup one day this week.
I am going....
to look for shoes for a couple of kids today in a nearby town. And there's a library book sale at the end of the week which I do NOT want to miss!!!
I am hearing...
The blow-dryer because Katie is getting ready to go to work. Carrie and Anna are in the living room, reading. Abby is quietly singing. Thomas is playing with Legos. Hubby, Rachel, and Emily are still asleep.
Around the house...
I want to think about what I'd like to accomplish over summer vacation and what I'd like the kids to do or read while we're off. And I still have to do some serious school planning for Anna and Emily, my high schoolers.
One of my favorite things...
Reading comments and emails from the Canadian Son. Talking to him on the phone. He's such a hoot!
A few plans for the rest of the week...
Shopping a little bit today. Funeral out of town tomorrow. That yummy library sale at the end of the week. Baking for Palm Sunday breakfast at church. Finishing up the Easter clothes. Continuing the Lenten Challenge.
But last night we went out to eat and just as we walked in the door of the restaurant, Abby had to throw up. Fortunately, we sort of made it to the restroom. Was it car sickness or a virus that might sweep the household? Only time will tell, but Thomas has just gotten up and says his tummy feels funny. How do you spell barf bucket??? (I know you're reading this, Son, and will think of something to say about barfing, right?)
A picture thought I'm sharing....
We're enjoying several dozen home-grown, double-yolk eggs from the friend of a friend.

Farm eggs are so good for you. I wish we could all go back to eating home grown food, we'd be healthier.
Please share a picture of the Easter outfits with us soon on the daybook.
I copied the soup recipe and will be sure to try it. Sounds yummy!
I'll make a picture and post it after Easter.
Hope you like the soup as much as we do!
Hi. I enjoyed reading your daybook. Also like your simplicity blog layout. Have a good week!
Jenelle
I also have a blog at www.littlecreekschool.blogspot.com
Thank you for the nice comments, Jennelle. I'll take a look at your blog!
So sorry for your loss. And hope finding Easter shoes will be easy.
I love fresh eggs. They just have a better taste than bought ones.
Library book-sales!!! Pure bliss. :) Have fun there, and here's hoping that you find some treasures!
Love the picture of the farm-fresh eggs! That soup looks yummy. I may try it, but first I have to buy some italian sausage. Your week sounds very very busy. Hope it all goes well!
We love the farm fresh eggs here too. Hope the bug stays away from your house. We finally found shoes for 2 children at Shoebilee....do you have those there?
Mrs. Katz and Tush is one of our favorites....
Thank you for your comment. I grew up in Sardis City, Etowah County. Not too far from you.
Gail,
No, we don't have Shoebilee. I found one pair at K-Mart today. We're going to try to get to Target sometime soon and we also have a Shoe Carnival which we haven't visited yet.
Glad to see you back online.
Thanks for sharing your Daybook! Those eggs look delicious! I see that you have nine children; I am the oldest of nine. Having many siblings is such a joy for me.
God bless! :)
