Outside my window...
a little bit of snow left and clouds this afternoon.
I am hearing...
Thomas practicing fiddle, Anna listening to her math video, Abby talking to me about some books she's looking at. Actually pretty quiet here because the other girls are gone with Emily to the orthodontist and the bookstore.
I am thinking...
about Lent and trying to decide how to personally approach it this year.
I am thankful for...
Thomas' Bible study book, Lord, Teach Me to Pray for Kids by Kay Arthur and Janna Arndt, which speaks to me, too.
I am reading....
a Grace Livingston Hill book, which does not require any thinking. I can just be when I read it, which is a good thing when I'm tired. I'm also reading What the Bible Says About Healthy Living by Rex Russell and working on our diet with Emily and Anna, who are using this for their health class.
I am hoping...
that our friend, Kylie, is enjoying her visit with us, despite the bleak weather.
From the learning rooms...
reading some Revolutionary War books, readin', writin', and 'rithmetic in earnest this week, a field trip to the aquarium at the end of the week if it doesn't snow again, getting Anna ready to go to TeenPact in March, giving Emily some encouragement about her CLEP test study.
From the kitchen....
granola this morning, with Grape-Nuts, sesame seeds, and dried cranberries mixed in. We're trying to eat healthier breakfasts and cut out some of the sugar in our muffins and other baked goods and we're reading more labels and looking for better recipes. Last week Emily made great scones with apples and ww flour and she has a ww banana muffin recipe to try sometime this week. She'll probably post those recipes sometime soon on The Parson's Daughters blog.
Around the house....
Keeping up the house, laundry, and meals, as usual.
A few plans for the rest of the week...
basketball, aquarium trip, errands and library, church, Purim party, Fat Tuesday pancake and game party with our oldest son.
One of my favorite things....
Red Diamond Decaf Coffee with a little half and half!
A photo I'm sharing....
the beautiful Katie in the snow
